What’s On in May: Art, Movement & Music Rooted in Landscape

As May arrives in full bloom, we’re delighted to share a rich tapestry of events at Tremenheere that invite you to connect more deeply with the land around you. From a powerful new exhibition exploring belonging and place, to immersive movement workshops and evocative music echoing through the Skyspace, this month’s programme is rooted in landscape and memory.

Whether you’re drawn to art, sound, movement, or simply the beauty of spring in the gardens full of bluebells, we hope you’ll find something you’ll enjoy here at Tremenheere.

The Land Will Call You Home, until 12th June

This exhibition traces the cycles of life, death, presence, and place through painting, sculpture, film, clay, minerals, and memory. Rooted in Cornwall, the works speak of spirit, soil, rhythm, and belonging, of what it means to emerge from the land, live within it, and return to it.

The exhibition, Curated by Samuel Bassett runs from 26 April to 13 June 2025, and the gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm. Many of the works will be available for purchase.

A unique opportunity to connect with the land through movement. Join choreographer Kyra Norman for the Deep Time Moving workshops at Tremenheere, as part of the current exhibition The Land Will Call You Home.

These sessions begin with a question: What can we, as moving bodies on a moving planet, learn from an imaginative attention to the ground beneath our feet? Kyra will guide you through a relaxed, creative exploration of the gardens, incorporating practices of deep listening and movement inspired by the geological rhythms of the Lizard Peninsula.
