To coincide with ‘The Land Will Call You Home‘, a group show curated by Samuel Bassett at Tremenheere Gallery 26th April – 13th June 2025, choreographer Kyra Norman will be leading a Deep Time Moving workshop at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.
Arrive by 10:15, workshop will run 10:30 – 13:00.
£25 / £20 / £15 pay what you can. Places are limited. Advance booking required – below. Workshop price includes entrance to the Gardens for the rest of the day.
Please note that the Gallery is closed on Sundays: in the event of very bad weather we will work in this indoor space, otherwise we will be moving outdoors: bring layers and waterproofs.
These workshops begin with a question: what can we, as moving bodies on a moving planet, learn from an imaginative attention to the ground beneath our feet? Join Kyra for a relaxed, guided wander around the gardens, sharing creative practices of attention and deep listening, and practicing movement fundamentals inspired by the geological, deep time moves of the Lizard peninsula – on the horizon, across the bay. Expect to settle, unsettle, fold, expand, rest and reimagine your relationship to rocks, rhythms and time.
***Deep Time Moving is a long-term movement-led artwork, unfolding in response to the unique geology of the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall, where Kyra lives, and developing in collaboration with an expanding team of inspiring collaborators: specialists in movement, performance, sound, visual art, design, geology, education, photography & film. Films from Deep Time Moving are showing in the Gallery, as part of ‘The Land Will Call You Home’.
Access: the workshop will move at a gentle pace and no prior movement training is required, however the site is not fully accessible, and we will at times be moving over uneven surfaces. If you would like to discuss access before booking, please email [email protected]
