Sun 19 July 2026, 10am-1pm & 2-5pm
Spirit Cloths (10am-1pm) and Spirit Dolls (2-5pm)
These two workshops accompany Holy Animals and Sacred Plants: Responses to Other Lives, currently running at Tremenheere Gallery until 25 July. You are welcome to book either the Spirit Cloth or Spirit Doll workshop or attend both.
This creative process is one of connection and enchantment. Humans have been stitching and making for tens of thousands of years; it is a tradition woven into our shared history. Using natural materials, participants will create a Spirit Cloth (also known as a slow-stitched meditation or story cloth) or a Spirit Doll (sometimes called an intention or nature doll). These handcrafted pieces provide a vessel for intentions, thoughts and prayers—for ourselves, for animals and plants, and for our planet.
No previous experience is necessary, and all materials are provided, although you are welcome to bring personal items to incorporate into your work. There is no right or wrong outcome—each piece is unique.
All proceeds from the workshops will be donated to Nowzad, a charity supporting animals affected by war and conflict.
£30 per session or £50 for both – Book for Spirit Cloths here & Book for Spirit Dolls here.
