At the beginning of the May half term, Tremenheere will host its annual spring charity day, this year in support of Man Down UK.
On Sunday 24 May, all takings from garden ticket sales, both online and in person, excluding season tickets, will be donated directly to the organisation, helping support its ongoing work with men experiencing mental health challenges across the UK.
Founded in Cornwall, Man Down UK provides informal, peer-led talking groups for men aged 18+, creating safe, non-judgmental spaces where people can speak openly, feel heard, and connect with others facing similar experiences.
Built around conversation, understanding, and mutual support, the organisation works to challenge the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help reduce male suicide through connection and community.
Since opening its first meeting in Penryn in 2019 with eight attendees, the organisation has grown significantly in response to increasing demand for accessible mental health support. In 2025 alone, more than 7,500 men attended meetings across the network, which now includes over 45 locations throughout the UK, all supported by volunteer facilitators.
Funds raised through the charity day will help cover the running costs of the organisation, including venue hire, facilitator training, refreshments for attendees, and printed outreach materials, helping ensure that meetings remain free and accessible to any man who feels able to attend.
The gardens will be open from 10.30am – 5pm, offering visitors the chance to spend time within the landscape while supporting an important cause rooted in care, openness, and community.
