March is a time of renewal at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens – the gardens begin to wake, light shifts across the landscape, and there are wonderful reasons to visit, whether you’re drawn by live performance, creative exploration, or inspiring contemporary art. From music in the gallery to a thought‑provoking new exhibition, here’s what’s happening this month.
Boilerhouse & Annamaria Murphy in Concert
Friday 13 March at 7 pm
On Friday, we host a very special evening of song and story in the gallery with Boilerhouse alongside Annamaria Murphy. Boilerhouse are a five‑piece acapella group celebrated for their earthy, heartfelt performances drawing on folk tradition, working songs and influences as wide as the poetry of Charles Causley. Their vocal energy and warmth offer something both timeless and joyous. Joining them is storyteller Annamaria Murphy – a writer whose imaginative narratives blend humour and insight, shaped by her experience with BBC Radio 4 and Kneehigh Theatre. The evening begins with doors at 6.30 pm, and tickets are £12. It’s a wonderful way to welcome the new season with sound and presence.

Locals’ Offer – Garden Entry All March
Until 31 March
For the duration of March there’s a special Locals’ Offer for residents of Cornwall. If you live in Cornwall and can show proof of residency, you can enjoy reduced admission to the garden throughout the month. This makes it a great time for a reflective walk among the early spring blooms, to explore sculpture and planting, or simply to enjoy fresh air and space before the busier season begins. Tickets can be booked online or purchased at the garden ticket shed when you arrive.
Newlyn Society of Artists: Eye of the Lens
27 March – 19 April
From 27 March into April, the Newlyn Society of Artists bring their spring exhibition Eye of the Lens to the Tremenheere Gallery. Curated by guest curator Mark Kermode – noted film critic, broadcaster and author, the exhibition invites almost 100 contemporary artists with deep connections to Cornwall to present work that speaks to their individual practice and perspective. Rather than responding to a specific theme, artists were encouraged to submit work that feels most true to their own voice, and the title reflects the idea that every piece is seen through the eye of the viewer’s own lens.
The show opens with a free opening event on Saturday 28 March (2 – 4 pm), and includes a talk with Mark Kermode on Sunday 19 April (2 – 3.30 pm), both open to all. Entry to the gallery is free and open daily during garden hours. Eye of the Lens promises a rich and varied experience, showcasing contemporary painting, sculpture, photography and other media by artists rooted in or inspired by Cornwall’s landscapes and creative culture.

Whether you’re coming to hear voices in the gallery, wander the gardens as spring begins, or explore the fresh perspectives of contemporary art, March at Tremenheere has something to inspire and connect you with the landscape, creative practice, and the changing season.
We look forward to welcoming you soon 🌿
