A Wedding to Remember: Danielle & James at Tremenheere

Sometimes love stories begin with a festival, a shared laugh and a walk along the shore. For Danielle and James, their journey to “yes” was just that, a spontaneous connection at a birthday party, then dancing all night at a festival. Their wedding at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens became the next unforgettable chapter, and was featured in Wed Magazine. Take a look back with us.

The setting: art, nature & Cornish landscape

Tremenheere offers more than the usual wedding backdrop, it weaves together lush sub-tropical planting, contemporary sculpture, winding garden paths, and sweeping views toward Mount’s Bay. That mix of wildness, calm and beauty sets the stage for something unique.

Danielle and James chose this setting because it felt right, natural and alive, just like their love. They wanted a wedding that was intimate, personal, and connected to the landscape around them.

A beautiful autumn ceremony & coastal charm

On their wedding day, they kept the tone relaxed and heartfelt. When James tried on a burnt-orange tie with his tailored blue suit, it sparked the palette for the whole day, dusky autumn tones of blush pinks, toffee and soft neutrals. Their florist helped bring the vision to life.

Rather than sticking to tradition, they chose something more spontaneous: arriving at the gardens together on the morning of the wedding, giving themselves a moment just for the two of them before the celebrations began.

Their ceremony took place outdoors, in view of the garden and coastal vistas, followed by a drinks reception among the sculpture and greenery. The couple and their guests toasted to new beginnings under the Cornwall sky until a sudden, torrential but brief rain shower sent everyone under cover.

But instead of dampening spirits, the downpour became a highlight. As a soaked but smiling stepfather rescued the cake. “It goes to show the weather doesn’t matter on your wedding day,” said Danielle. “It’s the love and laughter that surrounds you that makes it.”

Dinner, celebration & heartfelt moments

After heartfelt vows and confetti, Danielle and James, along with their guests, headed to dinner in nearby St Ives. The meal was a Cornish feast: Newlyn crab, local fish, seasonal produce, a celebration grounded in place and taste. The evening felt less like a formal dinner and more like the continuation of a day woven through love, laughter and coastal energy.

One of their favourite moments? Sharing that first glance together as newlyweds, stepping out into sunlight, flanked by friends and family, confetti still in the air, letting it sink in: “We are married.”

Why Tremenheere is a wedding venue like no other

What makes Tremenheere stand out isn’t just its scenic beauty (though that is breathtaking). It’s the way it blends art and nature, calm and emotion, structure and wildness.
