Join our Head Gardener, Alex Goodyear @goodyears_garden, on Saturday 19 September at 10am for a leisurely guided walk through the gardens.

As summer gives way to autumn, discover the seasonal highlights around Tremenheere, hear what’s new in the garden and uncover some of the stories behind its extraordinary plants, sculptures and ever-evolving landscape.

It’s a chance to see Tremenheere through the eyes of the person who knows the gardens best, with plenty to discover along the way.

Two new exhibitions coming up 🎨

This September, Newlyn School of Art presents two very different exhibitions at Tremenheere, bringing together artists exploring ideas of community, connection and our relationship with landscape.

✨ AGORA I | 11–13 September

Bringing together 20 professional artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, AGORA I is the culmination of Newlyn School of Art’s touring AGORA Mentoring Programme.

Named after the ancient Greek agora, a public space for gathering, debate and exchange, the exhibition explores themes of migration, memory, family, climate, faith, mythology and landscape through painting, sculpture, installation, textiles, sound, film and performance.

11–13 September | 10am–4pm | Opening event: Friday 11 September, 5–9pm. Free entry.

🌿 UPON | 18–20 September

A week later, UPON brings together 17 artists from across the UK, celebrating the culmination of Newlyn School of Art’s Professional Landscape Programme.

After twelve months of working and learning together in Cornwall, the artists explore the many ways we respond to landscape, from dramatic coastlines and rural spaces to personal memories and intimate encounters with place.

18–20 September | 10am–4pm | Opening event: Friday 18 September, 5–9pm. Free entry.

Two exhibitions. Two different perspectives. One wonderful opportunity to experience contemporary art at Tremenheere.

Come along, explore the work and discover how these artists interpret community, connection and the landscapes around us.

Our Rare Plant Fair is open today at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, 10 - 3 🌱

Come and spend the day discovering unusual, rare and hard-to-find plants from a fantastic selection of specialist growers and nurseries including Surreal Succulents. Whether you’re a keen gardener looking for something special or simply love exploring beautiful plants, there’s plenty to discover.

And while you’re here, make a day of it. Tremenheere Kitchen is open and serving delicious food and refreshments, and The Shop is open too, with plenty to browse and enjoy.

So bring a friend, explore the gardens, meet the growers, grab a bite to eat and see what plant treasures you can find.

The gates are open we’ll see you in the gardens! 🌿

Free entry to the fair; normal rates apply for the gardens.

As summer begins to turn towards autumn, September brings a wonderful mix of things to see, hear and experience at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.

There’s still time to catch the final days of A Glimpse of Serena Wadham and A mechanised Image: Forty Year of Paupers Press, both closing TODAY 5 September (4pm), before the month unfolds with a brilliant programme of new exhibitions and events.

🍂 5 September (TODAY, 2.30pm): Join Michael Taylor of Paupers Press on the final day for a special exhibition talk exploring the studio’s history, practice and collaborations.

🍂 6 September: Discover unusual and hard-to-find plants at our Rare Plant Fair, with specialist growers and nurseries joining us in the gardens.

🍂 11–13 September: AGORA I, presented by @newlynartschool, explores community and connection through painting, sculpture, textiles, sound, film and more.

🍂 18–20 September: UPON celebrates the culmination of @professional__landscape, exploring the many ways artists respond to place and landscape.

🍂 19 September: Join Head Gardener @goodyears_garden for a guided tour through the gardens and discover the seasonal highlights as the landscape begins its transition into autumn.

🍂 22 September: Experience the gardens after hours and see James Turrell’s Tewlwolow Kernow Skyspace at dusk for a special Autumn Equinox experience.

🍂 23 September–5 October: Liminal: A World in Transition brings together new painting, ceramics and jewellery by six members of @terramaterart, exploring seasonal change, climate, time and water.

And that’s just September…

Whether you’re drawn to contemporary art, music, plants, sculpture or simply the changing landscape of Tremenheere, there’s plenty of reason to visit this month.
