April – September 2025
For its 2025 spring/summer programme, Tremenheere Gallery presents three artist curated group exhibitions.
The first exhibition running April – June is curated by Samuel Bassett, with the second exhibition running June – August curated by Alastair & Fleur Mackie and the final exhibition running August – September curated by Amy & Oliver Thomas-Irvine.
Each curating artist has a connection to Tremenheere with Alastair & Fleur Mackie siting their work From This Day On at Tremenheere in 2023 and having previously exhibited in group shows at Tremenheere Gallery. Samuel Bassett has previous exhibited work in both the Gardens and Gallery and previously curated exhibitions at Tremenheere Gallery. Since 2020, Amy & Oliver Thomas-Irvine’s work Holding Breath has been part of the Gardens’ collection.
The Land Will Call You Home – Curated by Samuel Bassett
26 April – 13 June
A group show curated by Samuel Bassett exploring our deep connection to the land, how we arrive from it, live within it, and ultimately return to it.
Featuring artists: Simon Bayliss, Samuel Bassett, Ro Robertson, Libita Sibungu, Charlie Duck, Chantel Powell, Arthur Lanyon, Ben Sanderson, Kyra Norman, Nina Royal, Orla Kane, Siobhan McLaughlin, Joe Packer, Carlos Zapata, Katrina Naomi, Tegen Mor Tossell, Ali Bassett, Jamie Mills, Sharp, Rosanna Martin, Andy Harper.
There will be an opening event on Friday 25th April, 5-7pm at Tremenheere Gallery. This falls just before the opening of the exhibition, ‘Christopher P Green & Charlie Duck’ at Hweg in Penzance (6-8pm), so why not make an exhibition opening crawl out of it!
Afterimage – Curated by Alastair & Fleur Mackie
20 June – 2 August
An exhibition exploring the nature of site-specific interventions, where found elements are recontextualised through acts of assembly and displacement. The exhibition brings together a collection of photographic works, each capturing a proposition that exists primarily as an artwork in its record. These actions engage directly with their surroundings – whether remote landscapes or urban environments – through processes that gently reframe the space.
Artists include: Julie Brook, Matt Calderwood, Jasper Goodall, Jeremy Hutchison, Antti Laitinen, Alastair and Fleur Mackie, Katie Paterson, Mike Perry, Tony Plant, David Rickard, Amy and Oliver Thomas-Irvine, Jack Whitefield
Exhibition Title TBC – Curated by Amy & Oliver Thomas-Irvine
8 August – 20 September
More to follow.
Tremenheere Gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 4pm, with a few days closure between each exhibition for rehanging. Many of the works will be for sale.
