Step into the remarkable world of pioneering photo

Step into the remarkable world of pioneering photojournalist Serena Wadham (1930–2006).

Opening on 1 August, A Glimpse of Serena Wadham presents a selection of photographs documenting some of Britain’s defining social movements, alongside portraits of artists, working-class communities and everyday life.

Although seven of her portraits are held in the @nationalportraitgallery, Serena’s work has remained largely unseen. This exhibition marks the beginning of a three-year archive project, bringing her story and photography to new audiences in Cornwall and Islington, London, the two places she called home.

Presented in the lower gallery studio room, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to discover the work of an important British photographer whose compassionate eye captured both moments of change and the quiet details of everyday life.

What happens when music meets light, landscape and architecture?

This summer, internationally acclaimed violinist @peterskaerved has transformed James Turrell’s Skyspace and the Tremenheere Gallery into extraordinary spaces for listening as well as looking.

In our latest blog, we explore Peter’s unique relationship with Tremenheere, his long-standing collaborations with some of Britain’s leading contemporary composers, and how live music can deepen our experience of Turrell’s remarkable Skyspace.

The story also looks ahead to the final concert in this year’s series, **Seascapes and Love Songs** on Friday 4 September, featuring two world premieres by acclaimed composer Robert Saxton, written especially for Tremenheere.
