What happens when music meets light, landscape and architecture?

This summer, internationally acclaimed violinist @peterskaerved has transformed James Turrell’s Skyspace and the Tremenheere Gallery into extraordinary spaces for listening as well as looking.

In our latest blog, we explore Peter’s unique relationship with Tremenheere, his long-standing collaborations with some of Britain’s leading contemporary composers, and how live music can deepen our experience of Turrell’s remarkable Skyspace.

The story also looks ahead to the final concert in this year’s series, **Seascapes and Love Songs** on Friday 4 September, featuring two world premieres by acclaimed composer Robert Saxton, written especially for Tremenheere.

Save the date: Tremenheere’s Rare Plant Fair returns on Sunday 6 September 🌿

Join us for a celebration of exceptional plants, expert growers and the joy of gardening in the beautiful surroundings of Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.

Bringing together some of the South West’s finest specialist nurseries – including our onsite neighbours @surreal_succulents, fresh from their success at RHS Chelsea 2026 – the Fair is the perfect opportunity to discover rare and unusual plants, seek expert advice and find inspiration for your own garden.

The Rare Plant Fair is free to attend from 10am–3pm, with @tremenheerekitchen serving seasonal food and refreshments and @the_shop_tremenheere selling gifts and local art throughout the day.

Why not make the most of your visit by exploring the sculpture gardens, which will be open from 10.30am–5pm (standard garden admission applies)?

Come early for the best selection and leave with something special to grow.

Bright pops of colour nestled among subtropical planting, granite boulders and sweeping views across Carbis Bay and St Michael’s Mount, @alice.irwin_’s playful sculptures have become a joyful addition to the Tremenheere landscape.

But there’s more to them than meets the eye.

In our latest blog, we explore the inspiration behind the Peeps series, from childhood and memory to the ways sculpture can spark curiosity, conversation and connection.

Discover why these vibrant figures feel so at home in the gardens, inviting visitors of all ages to pause, smile and see the landscape through playful eyes.

After exploring the Peeps in the gardens, step inside the Tremenheere Gallery to discover Alice Irwin’s exhibition of prints, on display until 25 July. All works available for purchase.

How might we listen more deeply to the lives that unfold beyond the human? ✨

Join us this Saturday 11 July for Listening to Other Lives, a special panel discussion inspired by our current exhibition, Holy Animals Sacred Plants: Responses to Other Lives.

Bringing together perspectives from art, folklore, ecology and environmental action, the conversation explores our relationships with animals, plants and the natural world, asking what kinds of knowledge emerge when we slow down, pay attention and truly listen.

Chaired by Professor Penny Florence, the panel features artist @katewaltersartist, environmental activist David Smart-Knight, writer and folklorist Lucy Cooper, and Rachael Bice, CEO of @cornwallwildlifetrust.

The evening begins with a performance by @helenasophiaallan, followed by the panel discussion, audience Q&A and an opportunity to explore the exhibition.

Saturday 11 July | Doors open 4.30pm | Performance 5pm | Panel discussion 5.30pm

Whether you’re interested in contemporary art, mythology, ecology or our connection with the more-than-human world, this promises to be a thought-provoking evening of conversation and reflection.

The artists exhibiting alongside Kate in this exhibition are: Sally Tripptree, Mydd Pharo, Christine Linfield, Mandy Lancaster, Terese Tubman, Jacky Fox, Lucy Cooper, Danielle Beall-Kemp, Rachael Bice and Helena Sophia Allan.
