Strings and Whistles – a celebration of Cornish instrument makers

22nd – 23rd March 2025

A two-day exhibition of work from expert Cornish instrument-makers, including luthiers Martin Douglas, Kif Wood, Graham Emes and Chris Smith and instrument makers and restorers Hume and Sedgwick. Each maker has their own unique style and will be on-hand to talk about their work and instruments will be available for visitors to try.

Exhibition open 11am – 4pm on both days – free entry. The exhibition will take place in the lower gallery, with live performances in the upper gallery on both days. Performances are free to attend – voluntary donations will be gratefully received. No need to book.

Saturday 22nd, 1.30 – 3.30pm: Mark Barnwell will perform a mixture of his own flamenco-style music as well as play instruments from the makers. Sunday 23rd, 2 – 3pm: Performance by classical guitar duo BenOla.
