This summer, Tremenheere Gallery is proud to present @pauperspress – an extraordinary exhibition celebrating one of Britain’s most influential print studios.

For over 40 years, Paupers Press has collaborated with many of the UK’s leading contemporary artists, producing exceptional limited-edition prints that push the boundaries of the medium.

The exhibition brings together works by Jake & Dinos Chapman, Mat Collishaw, Damien Hirst, Christopher Le Brun, Andrew Litten, Grayson Perry, Hughie O’Donoghue, Paula Rego, Bob & Roberta Smith, James Turrell, Samuel Bassett, Sarah Ball and Caroline Walker.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector or simply curious about contemporary art, this is a rare opportunity to experience these remarkable works together in Cornwall.

The exhibition runs across both floors of the Gallery will be open Tuesday - Saturday, 11am-4pm. Entry is free with most works available to purchase.

A magical surprise this morning; a welcome shower of rain! The sound of raindrops dancing through the garden and the fresh, earthy scent afterwards were just what the plants needed after the heatwave.

For now, it feels like a subtropical rainforest, with every leaf glistening with life. Now the sunshine is beginning to return 🌿🌦️

Opening THIS Friday: The Mechanised Image: Forty Years of Paupers Press.

From 1 August, Tremenheere Gallery presents a major exhibition celebrating four decades of Paupers Press @pauperspress, one of the UK’s leading fine art print and publishing studios.

Featuring works by artists including James Turrell, Grayson Perry, Samuel Bassett, Damien Hirst, Hughie O’Donogh, Paula Rego and many more, the exhibition explores the enduring role of printmaking in contemporary art.

For Tremenheere, the exhibition holds a special significance. Alongside seeing James Turrell’s prints in the Gallery, visitors can experience his two permanent installations in the Sculpture Gardens: Tewlwolow Kernow (Skyspace) and Aqua Oscura, works that continue to explore his lifelong fascination with light, perception and the act of seeing.

Step into the remarkable world of pioneering photo

Step into the remarkable world of pioneering photojournalist Serena Wadham (1930–2006).

Opening on 1 August, A Glimpse of Serena Wadham presents a selection of photographs documenting some of Britain’s defining social movements, alongside portraits of artists, working-class communities and everyday life.

Although seven of her portraits are held in the @nationalportraitgallery, Serena’s work has remained largely unseen. This exhibition marks the beginning of a three-year archive project, bringing her story and photography to new audiences in Cornwall and Islington, London, the two places she called home.

Presented in the lower gallery studio room, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to discover the work of an important British photographer whose compassionate eye captured both moments of change and the quiet details of everyday life.
