Livingstone St Ives presents Primavera; their spring exhibition featuring work by a selection of their gallery artists at Tremenheere Gallery.
Originally starting as a digital only exhibition, Livingstone St Ives spent much of late February and early March filming on location at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens. Now the exhibition will open to be viewed in person for a limited time.
Alicia Livingstone (founder and curator of Livingstone St Ives) explains: ‘When we were invited by Tremenheere to use their gardens and gallery to film our spring exhibition, it soon became clear that the show drew so many links with the gardens that we really wanted to blend the two. The show’s themes resonated so closely with the very concept of Tremenheere’s identity.’
‘Inspired by Richard Cook’s painting ‘Primavera’ – with it’s Botticelli namesake as well as mystical bathers in Manet’s ‘Les Dejeuners Sur L’herbe’ – we had an idea for a show which nymphs and goddesses bathed in the forest alongside jungle tigers and flora and fauna as nature reawakens.’
The exhibition is open to the public 12th April – 3rd May 2021, but can be viewed online now. Contact Livingstone St Ives for all enquiries. For the duration of this exhibition Tremenheere Gallery is open Monday – Saturday, 11am – 4pm.
