We’re proud to announce our new partnership with The Newt in Somerset, which allows our Season Ticket holders free year-round entry into The Newt’s beautiful gardens based in ‘the land of myth and mystery.’
The outstanding gardens of The Newt have been meticulously shaped over the last 200 years by the likes of Margaret Hobhouse who elevated them to a Victorian ideal, introducing colour, a greenhouse and many trees of beech, oak, pine, walnut and cedar. Later in the 1970s, esteemed garden designer Penelope Hobhouse gave Margaret’s vision a new lease of life, followed by Nori and Sandra Pope who injected colour to inspire and delight thousands of visitors in the mid-80s.
The latest incarnation has been created by Italo-French architect Patrice Taravella who believes a garden should be both beautiful and useful. The gardens have become a feast for the eyes and stomach through the mix of ornamental and productive elements. Click here to learn more about The Newt’s gardens.
As with nature, gardens are ever-changing throughout the seasons, so we’re delighted that this new partnership will give our own Season Ticket holders the opportunity to truly enjoy everything The Newt has to offer. Learn about the garden’s age-old influence on horticultural history, catch a glimpse of the native deer promenading in the woods, or peek into the fascinating lives of bees and their hives at the Beezantium.
To enjoy free entry to The Newt this year, show your valid Tremenheere Season Ticket at the admission desk. If you arrive with a non member (i.e. your partner or similar), they will be required to pay £18 for a day entry ticket. Children may enter for free.
