It’s been a busy start to December at #Tremenheere, with various events taking place while the Gardens are closed. On the 2nd and 3rd December #TremenheereGallery hosted Drawing Near; a charity art exhibition and auction, combined with an events programme to create conversations and raise awareness around the climate crisis and related global emergencies.
There’s now been time to gather and count all the funds and we are delighted to report that the event raised £9,571. All funds have been donated to Eden Aid, Freedom from Torture, Ocean Rebellion, DEC, Extinction Rebellion, MSF and Sea Shepherd.
A very special thank you to the following people: To all the artists who so kindly donated artwork – without you all it wouldn’t have been possible to raise this money. All performers and speakers, who were fundamental in focusing the event not only on fundraising, but also awareness raising. To the team of volunteers who worked tirelessly during the week of the event. To Jesse Leroy Smith for acting as auctioneer.
Finally, Tremenheere wishes to pay special thanks to Kate Walters who was the driving force behind the event from beginning to end, including: conceiving the original idea, managing all aspects of its execution, and curating the exhibition and events programme.
