On Monday 6th May 2024 (bank holiday Monday) we’ll be hosting our first charity day of 2024 to raise funds for The Wave Project.
The Wave Project are the UK’s surf therapy charity, with a mission to harness the power of community, surfing and the sea to transform the life chances of children and young people.
The charity improves children’s mental health and wellbeing their award-winning Surf Therapy programme – surf therapy is an evidence-based programme that enables children and young people to build confidence and overcome anxiety barriers through surfing. They deliver personal surf lessons for people with disabilities who require additional support – this is done through their three specialist Adaptive Surfing Hubs in Cornwall, North Devon and North Yorkshire. They also partner with local schools to offer specialist education programmes to enable pupils to learn outside the classroom, this includes their Beach School, Surf Back to School and Wave Rangers projects. All proceeds from garden ticket sales (both in-person and online) for Monday 6th May will be donated to The Wave Project.
