NEWLYN SCHOOL OF ART PRESENTS AGORA I 🎨

This September, Tremenheere Gallery welcomes AGORA I, bringing together twenty professional artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines for a three-day exhibition exploring ideas of community, connection and shared experience.

The exhibition takes its name from the ancient Greek agora - a public space for gathering, debate and exchange. At Tremenheere, that idea comes to life through an exciting mix of performance, installation, textiles, sound, film, sculpture and painting.

The artists explore a fascinating range of themes, including migration, memory, family, climate, faith, mythology and landscape, alongside more personal worlds of dreams, prayer and desire.

11–13 September 2026, Friday–Sunday, 10–4 | Opening event: Friday 11 September, 5–9pm. Free entry.

The exhibition will fill both floors of Tremenheere Gallery, bringing twenty individual voices together in one shared space.

Join violinist Peter Sheppard Skærved at Tremenheere on Friday 4 September for Seascapes and Love Songs, an atmospheric evening of music inspired by the sea, landscape and love.

Experience Tremenheere after hours as music, art and landscape come together, with the James Turrell’s Skyspace and Gallery creating a unique setting for this special performance.

It’s an opportunity to experience the gardens in a different way, surrounded by the landscape and sculpture as the evening unfolds.

PAUPERS PRESS: EXHIBITION TALK - Saturday 5 September, 2.30pm

Join us at Tremenheere for a special exhibition talk with Michael Taylor of @pauperspress.

To coincide with the final afternoon of The Mechanised Image: Forty Years of Paupers Press at Tremenheere Gallery, Michael Taylor (Founder and Director of Paupers Press) will give a talk on how they works with a range of artists, as well as sharing information about some of the work included in the current exhibition and their approach to print as an expressive form.

FREE event, however places are limited and booking is essential. Email hello@tremenheere.co.uk to reserve your free spot.

If you’ve enjoyed the exhibition or are interested in contemporary art and printmaking, this is a great opportunity to hear more about the studio directly from Michael Taylor.
