A New Space for Reflection and Creativity at Tremenheere

Tucked away among the trees, with sweeping views of the woodland canopy and glimpses of St Michael’s Mount beyond, a new addition has quietly taken its place in the gardens at Tremenheere. A wooden balcony, shaded by soft sail cloths, now offers a calm and elevated perspective on the landscape, a place to pause, reflect, and take in the sounds, scents, and textures of this unique environment.

Designed to feel part of the natural setting, this new platform has already begun to invite creative responses. In its first few weeks, it has played host to violinist Peter Sheppard Skærved, whose solo performance under the canopy of trees transformed the space into a stage of sound and silence. His music resonated with the rustle of leaves and the occasional call of birds, a reminder of the deep connection between art and place.

The platform also welcomed Helen Kelynack for a Breathwork workshop, a practice of attentive presence through voice and breath, held within the stillness of the garden. Participants described it as grounding, expansive, and quietly powerful.

This new space expands the possibilities for how we gather at Tremenheere. It’s an open invitation; for performance, for reflection, for workshops and readings, or simply for moments of unhurried observation. It sits within the garden as a kind of quiet stage, waiting to be activated by new ideas and new energies.

As with everything at Tremenheere, it holds the potential for transformation, shaped by season, weather, light, and the imagination of those who spend time there. We look forward to sharing more from this special spot, and to seeing how it continues to evolve within the landscape.

If you’d like to experience the beauty of this space, the Gardens are open daily, 10.30 – 5.30, last entry 4.30.
