24th – 26th March 2023
Over the past few months, a team from Falmouth University has been working on a phone-based app for Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens in collaboration with three artists, as part of an Arts and Humanities Research Council funded project. The app showcases location-based digital sculpture using Augmented Reality. Using your phone, you can reveal the work in-situ as you travel around the gardens by artists Penny Florence, Jonathan Kearney, and Seamus Moran.
The app will be launched with a three-day exhibition at Tremenheere Gallery, showcasing examples of recent artworks with Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality elements by Newlyn Society of Artists members; Kate Walters, Simon Averill, Andrew Litton, Michelle Ohlson, Patricia Wilson-Smith and Tanya Krzywinska. The artists were supported by Falmouth University’s Immersive Business team during the development of these works.
The exhibition will run 24th – 26th March 2023, 11am – 4pm. On Sat 25th March, 1.30 – 4.00pm, there will be short talks from a number of the artists and creatives involved. You will also have an opportunity to try out some new immersive technologies with Falmouth’s Immersive Business specialists. Entry to Tremenheere Gallery is FREE and there is no need to book. However if you’re planning to attend the talks on Sat 25th March, the organisers have requested you book a free place via Eventbrite to help anticipate numbers attending – book your place here.
