“From the sculptor’s point of view one can eit

“From the sculptor’s point of view one can either become the spectator of the object or the object itself. For a few years I became the object.” @barbarahepworthart

An exhibition of four emerging artists from across the country, brought together at #TremenheereGallery to display sculpture born from surprising combinations of material and process with unexpected outcomes.

Thinking about the processes these materials have undergone to become the objects we see today, this exhibition invites viewers to discover how they can experience and relate to contemporary sculpture, and what an embodied act of becoming the object might involve.

Become an Object will include work by @will.cruickshank, @jemmaegan, @jessercpollock and @jonathanmichaelray. Curated by Martin Holman and Jonathan Michael Ray.

Tremenheere Gallery will be open Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 4pm, for the duration of this exhibition (also open both May bank holiday Mondays – 6th and 27th). The exhibition will be launched with an opening event on Friday 26th April, 6 – 8pm – all welcome to attend, no need to book. Entry to Tremenheere Gallery is FREE.

HE’S BACK! We’re delighted to announce the ret

HE’S BACK! We’re delighted to announce the return of Richard Long RA to #Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.

His work at Tremenheere, 'Tremenheere Line' which took shape as a line of red grass, has been recreated into a newer piece, incorporating Cornish granite.

It's sympathetic to the garden with a stunning view, inviting an inspection of a line from the uppermost south-facing point of the garden.

Come and witness the magic of the #JamesTurrell Skyspace as dusk ⬇️

Tewlwolow Kernow, Cornish for Twilight in Cornwall, is best seen at dawn or dusk, when background illumination under-lights the ceiling of the Skyspace and provides a subtle contrast with the sky.

The shifting balance between the interior and exterior light will provide a contemplative and hypnotic experience. You will be guided through this beautiful show.

Wednesday 10th April 2024, evening opening of the gardens starts at 6.30pm and meeting in the Skyspace at 8.20pm.
