Tremenheere Gallery presents selling exhibitions of paintings, prints, ceramics and sculpture by internationally renowned artists, as well as those living and working in Cornwall. With two exhibition spaces, across two floors, this beautiful oak framed building is one of the largest purpose built art galleries in Cornwall.
On most occasions the lower gallery presents changing solo or group exhibitions. The upper gallery, which tends to present an on-going mixed exhibition of work by the gallery’s stable of artists, regularly features work inspired by the sculpture gardens and the surrounding landscape.
Since opening in January 2017, Tremenheere Gallery has hosted solo exhibitions of work by artists including Gillian Ayres, Rose Hilton, Stephen Chambers, Jeremy Le Grice, Romi Behrens and Jessica Cooper.
Twice a year the gallery is also used by the Newlyn Society of Artists (NSA) to curate exhibitions of their members’ work. Originally formed in 1896, previous NSA members have included Stanhope Forbes, Alfred Munnings, Laura Knight, Dod Procter, Peter Lanyon, Patrick Heron and Terry Frost. Today the NSA is a diverse group of approximately 85 professional contemporary artists working across all disciplines from painting and sculpture to performance.
